How tall are you?

I'm 5'1 with a 25.5" inseam. I like an aggressive bike fit, but that's really hard to achieve when you're always riding the smallest frame available.

What size frame?

49.5cm - I typically ride 46-49cm bikes, so I was skeptical about the numbers at first.

I've got t-rex arms, so reach is always an area of concern for me. Brenda and I are equally as mini, but we have opposite proportions. The Cache has plenty of standover for her, and a really comfortable reach for me.

What’s your build spec?

A hot mess! It started out as a parts bin build, but got out of hand really fast...

Shimano XTR levers - one Ultegra caliper, one 105 caliper

Sram GX 11sp shifter and X1 derailleur

Shimano XT M8000 11-42 cassette

White industries G30 40t crankset / BB / Headset / CLD 28h hubs laced to their new G25A rims

RaceFace Turbine R 125mm dropper post - ft. miscellaneous jimmy rigged lever from the office

Chromag Cutlass 700mm 31.8 bars / Ranger V2 60mm chrome stem / chrome seat clamp

ESI Chunky Grips

Cult favourite 90s Time ATAC pedals

Specialized Power Saddle

What’s the intended use (where are you riding it)?

For everything! I built up my Cache to consolidate two other bikes - hardtail and cx/commuter/camp bike. I ride my Cache to work, on off-road group rides, at the pump track, and on light duty mountain bike trails. I'll be getting an alternate dirt tour setup going soon (650b and suspension fork), and will be using it for gravel and endurance events, as well as bike packing trips.

Where do you live?

BC!

Why do you love your new ride?

Coming from my previous life as a Bike Messenger, I've always valued having the perfect 'apocalypse' bike. The one that you'd reach for without batting an eye to ride off into the abyss. There's not a lot I wouldn't do on my Cache. It's the bike I default to when I'm not quite sure where my day will take me. I'm always going to have a fun ride on it.

Plus, look at how cute it is! What's not to love.
