Bike Checks from the Corrigan Brothers

Bike Checks from the Corrigan Brothers

Meet James and Westley Corrigan! They're from Nanaimo, BC and ride a variety of trails on the Island. You'll find them on their backyard trails of Dumont and South Benson, right here in Nanaimo. Cumberland's always a lot of fun, and when they get the chance, they head out to Prevost or Tzouhalem too! Check out their full bike checks and upcoming ride plans.

Where do you live and what are your favorite trails?

Westley: I like all the technical lines in Whistler and Squamish. There's something about riding those trails that really lets me have a lot of fun.

James: I'm all about variety, trying out new spots whenever I can. But honestly, any trail's great as long as I'm riding with my friends. It's a great way to spend a day.

What are your 2024 Ride/Race Plans:

This year, they're competing in the NW Cup races over in Port Angeles, Washington, but they're mainly setting their sights on the Dunbar Summer Series DH races in British Columbia. They're also pretty excited about the Stevie Smith race at Mount Washington and, if things go their way, they might even make a trip to Crankworx.

James: Meeting new riders and having fun both on and off the trails is really what I'm aiming for.

West: I'm really looking forward to catching up with my buddies at all the different races and mountains. It's going to be an awesome time.

What are you riding this year (bike model/spec). Did you add anything custom to the bike?

James: This year, I'm keeping my small frame Warden for trail/enduro biking, but I've got a new medium frame Warden set up for downhill. It's got an awesome black cherry fade paint job and has Title MTB parts and NOBL wheels. It looks amazing and rides fast.

Westley: For my DH bike, I'm on a medium frame Warden as well. It's in raw aluminum with polished aluminum Title MTB parts and NOBL wheels. Ken made some gold decals for the frame that are cool. The suspension setup is great—it feels amazing. As for trail and enduro, I'm trying out the new Endorphin this year. Loving it so far and can't wait to ride it more.
