Fit:
This season I wasn't planning on getting a new bike but after I saw the awesome new colour ways and the frame update, I couldn't resist! After riding a 2022 large Warden for the past year and I opted for a size medium this time around. With the new geometry, the frame ended up being fairly close in numbers to the old size large. It's slightly smaller but perfect for what I wanted as I prefer a more playful setup.
Build:
In the cockpit I'm running OSX 25mm rise bars and a 32mm Riza stem, I probably could have gone with a slightly longer stem but this works well for me.
I've got a Shi-gura setup with some XT levers to Magura calipers. I decided to give Shi-gura a try as I had stripped out one of my Magura levers when trying to bleed them and the Shimano bleed cup makes for a much easier bleeding process.
For cranks, I'm running 170mm NSB Talon cranks, with a NSB chainring, and Chromag Scarab pedals.
I've got a Super Deluxe coil in the rear and Zeb Ultimate upfront which I swapped over from my previous Warden along with the SDG dropper, Spank wheels, GX shifter and derailleur.
I have Chromag seat clamps and stem spacers.
Intended Use:
As much as I'd love to have one bike for every discipline, that's just not feasible for me so I had to find one bike to do it all and the Warden fits that bill perfectly! Anything from mellow shed laps for a quick after work ride to endless park laps with the homies, the Warden can do it all!
Where I ride:
My fav trails are anything with the homies to share the stoke! Mount Abriel in Nakusp, Sexy Flanders Mt Benson, Blue print in Cumberland, SST on Galbraith.
Ride Impressions:
I've had the pleasure of owning some other high end bikes with a similar travel range, but they all left something left to be desired. After the first ride on my first Warden I was hooked, and somehow with the latest updates they managed to make them even better. The Warden handles all the abuse I've been able to throw at it without hesitation. If you're in the market for a tough bike, one you don't have to worry about taking a small boulder off the down tube at mach speed or chucking your bike in the truck bed with the 6 other bikes, then don't even think about spending your money else where, this is the bike for you!
