Introducing our 2024 Limited Edition Colours
In 2022, we started doing limited edition (LTD) frame colours to bring some hype and exclusivity to our latest model updates for our Grassroots Team riders and loyal clientele. Small batches of frames in limited colours kept these frames exclusive and special. The Chilcotin in Pearl White paid homage to the original flat white Chilcotin from 2010 and the ultra rare (5 made) Warden in Blue with Copper splatter was reminiscent of splatter paint schemes from early 1990s mountain bike paint with spatter.
This season we wanted to introduce LTD colours to celebrate our new design aesthetic and updated model lineup. Aside from the Endorphin, the other models received ultra small batch finishes for that hypebeast wanting something that no one else could get. These colours were exclusive to our Grassroots team riders but are NOW available to the public!
Here’s a summary of what you can purchase and the story behind these LTD colours on the Chilcotin, Warden, Fugitive and Delirium.
The Chilcotin receives a Powder Blue paint with Mauve decals. It was influenced by the morning light in the sky with decal colours that match the colour of the ice cream from a local Squamish shop that one of our staff loves to frequent.
There was another office request to bring back the Anodized Purple on the Warden that was super popular on classic mountain bikes from the 90s. Why did it go away? The decal colour was chosen to mimic the vaporwave colour palette that’s all over the Internet.
One of our Grassroots riders wanted a red bike, so we painted the Fugitive with Lunar New Year Red and accented it with Gold decals. Historically, red hasn’t been a popular colour with Knolly (when was the last time you saw one?), so we decided to do a small batch to experiment with this bold colour.
We also produced the Delirium in a small limited edition run. The Rough AF Anodized Black with the Raw rear end was specifically selected because we knew that riders would beat on their frames. Anodizing would hold up to the loading on/off lifts, rock chips flying into the downtube and the Raw rear end acknowledges heel rub and shuttle scars. The alt Delirium color, Rising Sun, is a paint scheme that pulls in the White used on the first Knolly’s (with a Pearl added) with a fade to match the red RockShox BOXXER Ultimate fork - it also ties into the Canadian heritage of our brand. Its colour was to appeal to the Delirium riders that wanted to race and be seen. The decals on both bikes are slightly different than the normal ones, with vaporwave style lines that connotes speed.
If you’re looking to own something really special, these models are now available to purchase from our online store. We only produced a limited small batch of each colour, so when they’re gone, they’re gone! In addition, we're pairing these limited edition coloured frames (except the Delirium which is being sold as a frame only) with the NEW SRAM GX Eagle transmission.
