Interview:
When did mountain biking become a way of life for you?
Mountain biking became a way of life early on for me. In grade 6 and 7, my friends and I idolized all the local pros (Dangerous Dan, Wade Simmons, Ken Maude, etc). We wanted nothing less then to one day be like them. We spent all our time outside of school on our bikes. This hasn't changed since.
Who do you respect in mountain biking?
Everyone out there working the 9-5 who makes the most of their free time by riding in any kind of weather.
What has been your favourite moment in mountain biking since you started riding?
Getting the cover of Decline was probably my most cherished moment. It was something that I aspired to do for as long as I could remember. The hard work finally paid off. Now, it is everytime that I wake up and can think about what I am going to ride that day.
Who do you ride with regularly?
My Knolly Teammates and family, Geoff Gulevich, Jordie Lunn, Eric Lawrenuk, Danny Brody, Along with a core group of friends who I grew up with.
What do you have planned for next season?
I have been injured for the past few months, so I have been putting a ton of time into building some lines for 2010. I hope to include them in some videos and photos. I also hope to get in on some great trips and maybe a contest or two.
Any shoutouts?
First and foremost, Noel and Chris at Knolly. Tyler Morland, John Dawson, and Jeremiah Boobar at Sram. Harookz at Harookz.com. and of course my parents for being my number one sponsor until I was 17. Without you guys I wouldn't be the rider I am today.
