Garett Buehler

Nickname: Buells.

D.O.B.: April 22, 1991

Residence: Nelson BC

Pro Since: 2007

Career Highlights: Riding at Rampage in 2008 and 2010 has been a highlight even though it hasn't turned out as well as I've hoped, definitely rad experiences and a big learning curve. Filming with rad people and traveling to cool locations are my biggest highlights in general, growing up riding with a group of freinds who shred as hard as anyone, and being able to focus on shooting video is a huge highlight.

Best Part of the Job:Riding!

Favorite Food: pescado taco's a la plancha, Cheese/ Chocolate fondue, but generally am known to eat anything and everything.

Music Interests:Jaya the Cat, Dire straights, J 5, Tom Petty, Dylan, Chilli Peppers, Rolling Stones, Ozzy, Spearhead, Johnny Cash... just to name a few.

Favorite Trail: That's a tuff question! Can't pin just one as a favorite, but of coarse the "Reo" in Kamloops, "Aflow" in Williams Lake, "Power Slave" in Nelson... The trails in Morgin Switzerland built by the Walker bros, that sh&t is Craaaazy!

When did mountain biking become a way of life for you?

As long as I can remember, I've always had a bike, it was kinda just what we did, long jump contests in the driveway off the 1 ft kicker were an everyday event in my childhood, but when I moved to Nelson in 2000 things really started happening and biking was all I did after school.

Who do you respect in mountain biking?

Anyone who is stoked to share the ride and having fun... So many talented riders out there these days, I always watched and followed the freeriders... Simmions, Schley, Tippie, and later on guys like Romo, Hunter, Kinrade, Bourdo, Schwartz, Vanderham, Super T, Bearclaw ... these days its hard not to have allot of respect for Zink!...and everyone who's killing it right now and riding hard, Sorge, Aggy, Gully, Doerfling,hopkins...there are allot of really talented riders right now the list could just go on...

What has been your favorite moment in mountain biking since you started riding?

That is quite the bold question... to many different moments that are good in there different ways!

Who do you ride with regularly?

Sorge, Doerfling, Romaniuk, Kinrade, there are allot of local rippers in Nelson and anywhere you go... these days its hard to consistently ride with the same people, as it seems like things are always all over the map.

Favorite bike film section and why?

Off the top... Bearclaw or supter t Kranked 5, Romaniuk/ Hunter in The Collective, Joe and Robbie NWD 1, Shandro/Watson Ride to the Hills... all that stuff is just so raw and real and just pure gold!

What do you have planned for next season?

2011 is shaping up nicely, we have shoots planned with the Freeride entertainment boys, as well as working on Stund Season 3 with Kinradical and Romaniak. Solosproductions.com will be super tight and we have plenty of rad adventures in the works. I've already been on a shoot in the Baja of Mexico for the month of January, and I'll be headed to France to ride in the Chatel Mtn Style as soon as the snow melts in the alps, working closely with photos with guys like John Gibson, and Our team photographer Margus Riga. Keeping my front Yard in shape and of course enjoying the summer in Nelson as much as possible.

Any shoutouts?

Shutouts to all my sponsors, Adidas Eye wear, Sr Suntour, Lizardskins, Royal, Hayes/ sunringle,Giro, MRP, NRG enterprise, and Knolly bikes, Kinrade, Romaniuk, mom dad, Sorge, Tam Forde, Brother jack, Family, friends, and anyone who I've ridden with and is stoked!
